Justek, at 38 years old, is from a military family and has been in the military since he was old enough to join up. Until the end of the Dominion War he held the Cardassian Militia rank of Gul and commanded a ship, the Gattan in the 4th fleet.

He had loses during the war - His brother served on his ship and was killed when it was damaged during the final battle. His parents and wife of one year had been in the Cardassian city of Culat when it was destroyed, all three were killed. He does not like to say so, but it was possible his wife was pregnant when she died.

He supported the Dominion in the hopes that it would benefit Cardassia and still maintains that it would have should it have succeeded.

After the War he was assigned to recover bodies in Lekarian city and has now been posted to Empok Nor, with the Federation bestowed title of Commander, to serve as Operational Advisor on the running of the station. His only concern is to follow orders, as his family moto go, "I obeyed orders, that's what I do."

Deep down he is a good man but holds some views people might not like. He has no skill for speaking outside the military environ and so can often put his foot in his mouth. A lot.

As with some other Cardassians he can come across as smarmy, and overconfident, but often as charming and heroic. A nice little mixture of complications all round, as amongst the Federation on especially civilians he is a fish out of water. But he is also finding, given some reactions on *new* Cardassia, that he isnt entirely comfortable with other Cardassians now.
